Journey Level Drywaller

Location Chico

Essential Functions:

  • Install and repair drywall as needed (measure, cut and attach wall board as needed)
  • Join the panels together using joint compounds and tape (embed or paper)
  • Apply mud, sand and finish all surfaces preparing them for painting
  • Maintain small tools, equipment case
  • Material handling /organizing while keeping work areas clean
  • Prepare materials estimates, read blue prints and process work orders

Other Functions:

  • Support/help other paint employees as requested
  • Special projects as needed
  • Tracking equipment, supplies and service history, maintain tools and company vans as directed

Mental and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies such as materials, tools, equipment, site furniture weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain customer oriented focus with supervisor and co-workers
  • English language comprehension (reading, verbal, written)
  • Climb ladders, scaffolds and complete overhead work for assignments
  • Ability to walk, kneel, climb, stand, stoop, crouch, and reach when performing drywall and related duties/activities.

Core Competencies/Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of recent journey level drywall work experience
  • Knowledge of drywall repair, installation and finish work using standard tools and machines
  • Use and application of safety practices and procedures
  • Candidate must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, punctual, detail oriented, and able to work independently
  • High school graduate, holder of GED or equivalent training
  • Current California Driver’s license
  • Current experience with all phases of drywall installation, start to finish
  • Prior experience with residential/commercial business and shop maintenance roles
  • Eager learning aptitude with strong work ethic
  • Journey level or Contractors license
